Julia Lorraine Peterson
As a Doula I know you are capable of making images that stop people in their tracks because the skills you bring to the table as a Doula are the same skills that will help you make amazing photographs. Photography is mostly about how you see and interact with the people and environment around you. As a Doula I know you are keenly tapped in.
I’ll be guiding you as you add photography into your practice. You’ll learn to make images that are priceless to your client and have a lot of value for you. When I was completing my Doula training 12 years ago I worried I wouldn’t be able to secure the 3 births I needed to certify. Turns out that being a Doula/Photographer is a powerful thing. I was booked out from the beginning. I am now a sought after photographer attending births solely as a photographer and capturing the motherhood journey from pregnancy and beyond.
I’m here to nurture you as you weave photography into your business.

By adding photography to your Doula Practice you’ll be able to:

"After taking Julia's course, I felt so motivated. Motivated to push myself, get outside of my comfort zone, and really take my work to the next level. The course is extremely well paced, she gives tangible examples, and my favorite part was getting to watch a video of her in an at-home maternity session. This was so valuable to be able to watch her in 'photographer mode' and then see the images in post. I also signed up for the 1:1 coaching with Julia-- which was one of the best investments to my business to date. She provided such great feedback, and answered every question I threw at her-- which covered questions ranging from technical camera issues to package offerings to posing help. If you are new to photography or a seasoned photographer- I HIGHLY recommend the 1:1 coaching. Julia has so much to offer and it's a great way to immediately level up your business!"

"Adding photography to my practice has been a game changer. I am able to take on fewer clients total, which means I am not as on-call and very happy about that!
I am making more money overall and definitely more satisfied. Plus, there is an added element of excitement when I capture their story and know that they are going to have those images to look at forever!
Another bonus is folks tend to also do newborn photos with me and I just add them in to my postpartum visit.
Some of my clients have also reached back out already to schedule family photos sessions and it has been such a treat to see those babies grow and have continued connection with my clients. So damn special!”
